Akihabara秋葉原 is located less than five minutes by rail from Tokyo Station. Its name is often shortened to Akibaアキバ. I really love to go there on weekends. I’m must say I like techno stuff and over there is the place to be! In Akihabara you can find anything related to the latest electronic, computer, anime, cosplay, and otaku goods, including new and used items. New items are mostly to be found on the main street, Chūōdōri, with many kinds of used items found in the back streets of Soto Kanda 3-chōme.
Normaly Foreign tourists tend to visit the big name shops like Laox or other speciality shops near the station but be sure to go explore a little bit more, you might find incredible deals. First-hand parts for PC-building are readily available from a variety of stores. Tools, electrical parts, wires, microsized cameras and similar items are found in the cramped passageways of Soto Kanda 1-chōme (near the station). Akihabara gained some fame through being home to one of the first stores devoted to personal robots and robotics. There is also a high concentration of maide cafe which are cafes or restaurant were the waitress are dressed in maid uniform of costume in that line.
Like technology be sure to stop in Akihabara, you don’t need a whole day to visit just a few hours would be enough to make you enjoy this part of Tokyo.
